Just had a "very experienced" "professional" etc etc client tell me how nobody on the north side of the harbor bridge had any idea about audio... coincidently we are on the north side of the bridge :-(

I got the usual comments about how it is impossible to record anything ever that sounds good with out going through tape, and that even cassette tape sounds better than all digital....

And my favourite comment... that the d$gi 001 preamps sound just as good as all the several thousand dollar preamps that the customer has tried out, and that expensive preamps were all a rort.

I just smiled and backed away....

Just nod and watch their lips move if they need you to pretend.

Or from Charlie and the Chocolate factory I love this line.

Willy Wonka: Uh, you really shouldn't mumble, because I can't understand a word you're saying.

What difference would better components have on a signal measured in voltage?

What has geography got to do with the recording process?

and what a f#%@ing tool!

after having spent hours mixing a project for a client whose vocals were recorded directly to 001 preamps/tools... while the rest was done quite professionally, neve desk and usual suspect mics

man do those vocals stand out, and for all the wrong reasons

interesting character.

i wonder how he reconciles his love of tape with his love of the 001's preamps... 001 preamps direct to tape anyone?? didn't think so...

quite weird.

anyway, i like him/her.
