Why does that picture of her holding the mic make me cringe a little?

I had no ide who she was until I did a google search on her.
Wow what a life she has led at only 24 years old.
Good on her.

Orianthi carves, and has a great voice. Lotta great muso's outta Adelaide.

She's a hot guitar player too...
But what's the mic on the guitar? Looks like a Rode possibly..

I am amazed at the lack of presence that Gibson acoustics have in Australia.
I was personally drawn to the J-45 series and really loved playing it. But I saw no one in Australia playing Gibson acoustic. I thought to myself "surely they cant be all that bad".
But it really makes you second guess buying one and as a result I have not bought one yet but I think I am getting closer to doing it.

Rob, she was the lead guitarist on the ill-fated Michael Jackson 'This Is It' tour. I hadn't heard of her before MJ's death but she is apparently quite an accomplished musician. If MJ chose her for the gig... I think that speaks volumes.

As for her endorsement of the mic... so what. Chad Kroeger from Nickelback uses a Rode K2 on all his studio vocals but I'm not running out to buy a Rode. I have no doubt that Ben makes great mics but this place is getting a little 'fan boy' for Beez Neez lately. It's just a microphone people.

In an interview Michael asked her to play some of his famous solos which she pulled off quite nicely.
He then asked if she could play them with him on the stage walking quickly with him. She said she could and got the job.

Jennifer Batten had the MJ gig as his guitarist for yrs - I wonder what happened to her if Orianthi got it..
Batten was awesome too.. Great chops..

anyway. Agreed, don't sell the taylor. Gibsons are nice, but keep the taylor. 800 series limited ed, dont do it!

+1 for no selly Taylor. I've never been a huge fan of Gibson acoustics.

Do you think the T1 has more bottom end forward than the Arabella. I'm thinking of getting the T1 down the short track and just don't want to double up the same vibe.

Not sure yet Nic - I just haven't really got to use it enough to make comments.
Hip Hop session on Friday so that will be interesting.

Quick way to resize an image in windows is to right click on it and select "Send To" then "Mail Recipient" and windows (XP) will automatically ask you if you want it resized. Normally brings it down to about 100kb. Once it is in the email as an attachment just drag it to where ever you want the file and close the email without saving it....

Heaps quicker than launching photoshop for low res pics...

if an inappropriately large photo isn't worth resizing before posting, then... well... maybe it's not worth posting.



as for where to put it - there's flickr, photobucket, and all sorts of other free online photo hosting sites.

an easier solution I guess is just for nobody to read your posts, as you've just made the point that anything you post isn't worth the 30 seconds it takes to do right to you - so why would it be worth the time it might take anyone else to read?
