Has anyone noticed a change in compression on the radio? in particular MMM.
Triple M has always been considerably loud. Recently it is different, to the point of even more compression.
Does anyone know whats causing this? New technology? new person in charge of something?

Sounds like the station is pushing their program too hard into the transmission limiter. I've noticed this on other stations occasionally. If music is already limited to bajebus (like most of the music on MMM) then it will sound slammed, artifacty and slizzerly.

I have checked with the guys at MMM Melbourne and they have not changed anything recently with their Orban 8500 processor. You wouldnt happen to have a Kenwood car radio that has an inbuilt audio levelling processor or similar, these sound like crap?
Cheers
