Very close to having our FOH MK1 fully sourced. I was hoping for some input on the placement of the components...

We have:

1 x Furman Power Conditioner
1 x dbx DR260
1 x LA Audio EQ231G
1 x Lexicon MPX 500
2 x TC M-One XL
1 x dbx 166XL
1 x BSS DPR-404
2 x Drawmer DS201 (Have one looking for another) or..
1 x BSS DPR-504

Will make my RNC available to visiting engineers if they want it - wont be in the rack..

Firstly, any comments on glaring omissions will be welcomed, secondly - the above is the order I have them currently racked, but would welcome suggestions for improvements for better work flow etc.

Monitor Graphics will be racked separately and provided at FOH position.

Another question....

In terms of patching gates and comps, how would you like to see the standard setup? It's tempting to use channel 1 & 2 of the insert loom for the dbx, however, I wonder how happy most engineers would be the 166 gates. I know I don't really like em...

I'm planning to label the TRS end of the loom by device name and channel, so maybe it doesn't really matter.

and from my touring its pretty much the standard too..

re the looms. just go top to bottom/ beginning to end
so whatever is first in the rack (the 166) should be first on the loom.
is that what you mean?

and no - i don't think ANYONE will use the terrible 166 gates, given that you will have 6ch (if you get the 504) of PROPER gates further down the rack.

this is for an inhouse set up yes? whats the venue?
its a great/ acceptable/ just what it should be set up for a small club.

This rig will spend most of its time split between 2 venues, one in Orange and the other in Mudgee. It is available for hire too.

We still have a few ares to sort out, especially in monitor land, but, I believe we are heading the right direction.

Thanks for the input on the rack, it's nice to know we're getting it right!

Not in Orange - different venue. Possibly in Mudgee, but I had not been informed as yet...

Orange to Mudgee is quite a hike (from memory).
What about a 3rd multi-fx so you can have two different reverbs and a delay, or two different delays and a verb?
I just sold my SPX90 for $100. For so little money there's really nothing wrong with the capabilities of that unit.
It has a mixture of reverbs, delays, chorus, phasing and flanging. With the quality of new reverb/fx plug-ins I think many project studios are selling their older hardware.

Orange to Mudgee is between 2.5 - 3 hours.

Hoping to find a well priced D Two to add to the rack.

I haven't played with the Lexi yet to see what it is capable of..
