WTB 6 matched monitors or similar
Hi guys,
I am chasing 6 x reasonably high output monitors for an installation thingo next month.
I had wanted event 2030's or Tannoy 802's but both are out of stock in Australia and I need them this month.
I can get pa boxes, but would prefer not to go down this route as playback fidelity is a concern.
The Event's and Tannoy's both went loud-ish (rated at 114dB peak SPL) and need something similar. Not astronomically loud but they need a bit of oomph.
Can anyone help?

Have a look at JBL control 25 and 28 boxes. They aren't monitors, but they do sound quite hifi, are robust and loud.

The Mackies can take a bit of punishment.. Hr824
Otherwise in that price range you could get some a7x or even Genelecs, never any problem with stock levels on them.

Will take a look at the JBL's - they're not powered are they?
Genelecs and Adams are over-budget (and overkill) for this project.
Both the 2030's and 802's were reasonably loud, hi-fi-y and powered for <$1200 a pair, so looking for something similar.

Re: WTB 6 matched monitors or similar
i have the JBL control system in my office
its mainly used for background music (distributed through the place)
but i reference mixes on it (to be out of the studio)
and its taken a few good poundings at parties with DJs etc
so def worth a look
they have good mounting options too, for an install that might alone be worth the price of admission

Mounting is apparently 'not going to be a problem' as the walls will be covered with 'stuff' that we can put the speakers on...

Hey Dave, are you after 6 identical spkrs? No subs? I have a pair of KRK 10-3s and a pair of KRK12subs if you're interested....... Perhaps add 4 smaller KRKs to make up the 6 (8 that is with subs.....

Re: WTB 6 matched monitors or similar
actually the KRK isnt a bad suggestion
they are cheap for what they are
and available in a number of different colours that might suit your installation?
i have white rockit 5s (in my modern white on white apartment) as a reference speaker at home/ stereo listening.
they sound great for what they are and ive never had any issues
if you went bigger like the 8s - i imagine you would get enough go out of them.

I work for the Australian distributor for KRK. Rockit 5's are definitely in stock (as long as you need less than 400 units)
.
Whoever told you they were out of stock is telling you porkies.
Let me know if that's the way you want to go and I can hook you up.
Cheers
