For sale: JH24-16/8 1" 8 track.
Hi guys,
I have an MCI listed on the bay, JH24-16/8 (JH24, 8 track version, comes standard with JH114 transport) 4/1984 build.
I bought this several years ago from an ABC auction, with the view to building an analog project studio/obsession. That never eventuated, and I now need the space it occupies!

1" 8 track headstack and rollers, the card bays are populated with 8 tracks of record, replay bias and output cards
Unit is complete, the transport has been tested and is working (Play, Stop, Record, FF, RW, Varispeed, remote, counter) I have done a very quick test (grabbed any old reel of 1", the machine not actually set up for that model of tape!) recording and replay functions for each of the 8 channels were tested using steady state tone, all 8 channels record and play back. I have noticed that a couple of the 'record enable' lamps are blown, but the record enable LED's on the remote work fine. Obvious, but a lineup and service would be in order before it is put back into service.
The remote record enable button for channel 6 isn't latching as it should (works if you keep holding it down) shouldn't be hard to repair, would need a new switch I'm guessing.
