FS: Pair of AKG C12B Vintage Tube Microphones
Hi All,
I am selling a pair of AKG C12B Microphones, they are both in perfect working order.
Serial numbers 106 & 129
These use the same capsule as the revered C12 & ELAM 251 and share the exact same circuit as the C12A with the only change being the addition of a switchable 20db pad between the capsule and tube which makes them a bit more versatile for louder sources.
The pair were serviced by Rob Squier about a year ago and have had little use since, I just don't have time these days.
Both have the original brass CK12 capsules, both have healthy nuvistor tubes, one of which was replaced when Rob serviced them with a NOS RCA unit. Both have had new cables fitted using Mogami W3172 tube mic cable. Rob also replaced the connectors into the PSU as the originals were in poor shape, he did a first class job with some bullet proof din connectors.
Other than the cable and PSU connector everything else is original and they are mounted in new hard cases.
Additionally I have two brand new Telefunken USA Marion adapter kits:

These are designed to replace the original stand mount and connector with a machined XLR base. I was going to fit these but never got around to it however if I was using them regularly I would seriously consider this reversible modification as the original mounts are fairly fragile to work with and the Telefunken mod will allow them to fit standard AKG 414 shockmounts.
Images of the pair can be seen at: http://imageshack.us/g/32/img1097ml.jpg/
Not quite sure where to price these but I'm thinking around $5500 for the pair but open to offers and may consider trades, particularly guitar related.
Thanks for looking,
