Designed primarily with ribbons in mind, it has lots of clean headroom and very low noise. Very transparent making it a perfect match to something as 'opinionated' as a 4038. The top end EQ on it is brilliant for opening up dark sounding mics too, in a much more natural way than many other EQs seem to behave. The preamp also has phantom power unlike the TRP. I've used it on many occasions for loud clean guitars. The massive headroom keeps all transients fully in tact and really make anything pop out of the speakers cleanly with excellent depth and dimension.
Well that's what I reckon
It's in excellent condition except for minor scratches on the top due to racking.
