What is it about the Akais that people like so much?
Keep coming across people asking for them, I never thought much of them, I'm curious why they are so popular at the moment..?

Can't speak for anyone else but personally, I love their sound. Have borrowed them off friends and want to own for myself.
Stunning to my ears. Hence inspiring to play. Hence productive synths for me to own.

Never seen a VX600, but my AX-60 does a few things really well: big shiny 80s polysynth chords and bouncy electronic basses, to name a couple.
The filter resonance is a bit annoying - it needs to be rescaled to put the usable range across the travel of the slider. As it is, the most musically useful area is in a third of the travel.
