hey all
I wanted to know what is involved in a plate reverb.
It is not so much that I want build my own but I want build an instrument for crazy noise stuff
that would be based on plate reverb.

what drives the metal plate?
is the pickup a contact mic
or a electric guitar style pickup

I plan to stike and scrape the plate so it is going to be
thicker than I imagine a traditional plate would be

Have you ever tried to strike, scratch, ,pluck and otherwise mutilate a Hammond (Accutronics ) spring reverb?........great fun and the notes are almost musical

you should talk to david mccluney about his (in)famous piano-frame reverb!

basically a bunch of strat pickups on an upright piano frame. it sounds... interesting.
