Hey guys,
just a quick note to say that the G9 tube pre from the prodigy forum is fricken good. Used Lundhal in and out trannies and wimas etc. No photos yet but check back soon, i was too excited and had to spread the word. I'm even more stoked that it fired up first time and rocks, can't wait to use it on a session.

Well here it is, not sure of cost as i collected parts over a period as you do. It sure is good though.
Still working on my own gear, you guys will be the first to hear about it

i would love you to try putting together a rough costing. did you buy components from RS components? if so, do you still have the BOM?

I'm well on the way to finishing my LA2A's (yeah yeah yeah) but am still only missing tube sockets - where'd you get yours?

I'll have to do some digging but i think i bought most of the parts from either mouser or digikey, ended up being cheaper and you can order ones and twos of odd resistor values without having to buy 1000 etc. Yep i have the bom. I'll have to come clean, the front panel was from a guy on the prodigy site. I'm still working out how to use Illustrator so i can utilise some local machine shops. Tube sockets i had to cut the pins and bend them together to fit the pcb, i have some if you need them.

Barney, that's some real nice work. The wiring work is stunning and thanks for putting up massive photos as I like looking at them closely to get hints n yips on how to improve my own work.

Purusha's case really do look professional. I've been tempted to buy some but his can't compete with my mighty Brutha P-Touch Labelmaker.

I'm really interest to see what you come up with mate - I'm impressed you're taking the plunge into your own designs.

I have built a couple of G9's they have the sweetest sound to them. Really musical.

They cost me about R4000-00 which translates to about A$ 700-00, depending on the transformers used. I used Lundahl inputs & OEP outputs.

well, i've got a stock of interesting old trannies that i'd like to put to use. so while i'm waiting to hear from Barney on his spare lundahl's i think i may be covered . . . that cuts down the cost a little already . . .
