Where can I buy a socket for the back panel for the power supply to plug into? Havrnt had any luck at jaycar/dick smith or Radio parts...

I take it you are using one of Joe's 48v supplies?

I use these, 'cause they've got a screw on connector to keep the plug secure

Do you cut off the plug and rewire it to one of these sockets?

IIRC Joe sells them, if you ask for one. If you missed the boat on your JLM order, Jaycar sell them. I'm pretty sure it's either part no. PS0522 (2.1mm) or PS0524 (2.5mm) - take your power supply into Jaycar with you, and whichever one fits, that's it.

That what Chrisp is talking about is a better solution, as it is a screw in and therefore more secure. But you're right tim, you'd have to cut the tip off the lead and rewire it. Not exactly a drama to get a better result. That said, I've simply used what I described above and it works fine.

Yeah, that's exactly it. It makes the power socket distinctive, and as I said has the advantage of a locking ring that stops it coming loose/out when the drummer walks past it and trips over the power lead.
