Unfortunately, In today's day and age of consumerist marketing, an idea like this, which may have some sort of incentive value to it, will most likely never get any further than the link i just posted.

Could it work? Imagine never having to rely on an agency/management/production company to fork out for all the stuff a solo artist/band/group has to to actually tour and promote their product to the worldwide market. All they need is fans, who in turn, after investing in the product, create the revenue to help said artist/band/group to get out there into the world. And in return, reap the benefits and profit of being an investor in a product that may make them quite a tidy return.

Legalities aside, i find this idea somewhat intriguing.
