Replacing Tantalum Capacitors
My Emulator 1 was behaving a bit odd today, so I opened it up, and a few of the tant caps on the digital board have a rather low resistance reading (That is in circuit, however) coming in at about 1k ohms..
When I first got it, about 2 were short circuit and smoking.. when I replaced them it was all fine etc..
So, I'm going to pre-empt the others failing, and replace them all, (about 15) with new ones..
My question is, should I use tantalums, or are electrolytics fine for this purpose?
Regards
Mike
