I've been offered a HHB Radius 50 for rather cheapish..
I can't seem to find any real reviews on the net.. does anyone have any experience with one of these?
It's a Mic pre + Comp.
Kind regards

never liked them or the TL audio ivory series which I think are the same thing (though one is blue/purple and the other is ivory)

Can you please elaborate what it was you didn't like?

I also had the ivory series comp. I did not like the sound of it and quickly sold it I thought that other comps did a better job for cheaper money.
The sound was a little harsh and thin and noisy. It did not make it sound better.

we use to have the 4 channel valve pre and it was unreliable (power issues i think) and besides it sounded really weak and had no grunt, the valve 'drive' just made the sound edgy with no bass and and no tone. never liked it only used it when I absolutley had to. Returned it as soon as I could.

I should clarify that I found the ivory series not up to what I like but I do like the P series stuff.
I have an earlier PA2 Valve PRe/Di that I have compared to some other pres I had and it hold sits own ground.
I really like this 2 channel pre so not all the TL Audio is bad. I also like the C1 comp when I used it briefly but this is also an older series TL Audio product and was more expensive then the ivory range.
Thanks

Cant speak for the P series or any of the more expensive TL audio gear but any of their budget stuff is best to be avoided. Kind of like an ART starved plate pre tarted up to look like real gear but only in looks and those aren't that great either.
Some people really like their more expensive stuff though like the c1 or the P stuff so you might like that also. Not for me though...
