Ah Nic, thanks anyway
My Auditronics pre's are fine - Calrec's would be superfluous to what I need right now..
However, I'm in the market for some API stuff now.
A little windfall arrived in my lap for my 40th birthday yesterday!! :) :)
Tim..

hey, does anybody know how to effectively rack these pres...
ive got a couple of similar ones (pq 1253)
i have heard that the outputs cant suitably drive a very big load..... certainly slapping a transformer on the output will in most cases fry the output transistors.....
i have seen some output cards on ebay - but i dont know what model is compatible....
seeing this post reminded me of my dust collecting pile of 'calrec, audix, api' junk (treasure) that i have lying around....
oh well maybe sometime this decade....

These are my old Calrec's. Very nice pres and EQ's. The Calrec's, API and Neve 2254's were not thing's I wanted to sell. I only kept the Buzz pre when I sold of the studio.
These were racked by Funky Junk I brought them from a guy in England second hand.
Racking I used to get a few emails asking about how they were racked as there is a few similar modules on ebay. I think you need the output board to go with them?
I can give you contact info if you want as well. I think he is stupid selling them told him so on the weekend.

Sorry never opened up the rack. Maybe email funky junk as I had seen they racked a few more. As one was for sale when I brought these.

Hey people. Thanks for that Daveo! Perhaps im a little silly. But hey, they are not sold yet. Yes i'll accept $3000 plus post if its a bank deposit transaction (as opposed to a Paypal one). But anything less than 3k, well i'd rather keep 'em.
Hey TimS - yeah its racked an ready to go. So Whats this output card you guys speak of? Its a complete unit.
If anyone wants a chat about these pre's give me a buzz 0410 509 529
