live sound setup of the beach hotel pub

Saw someone doing an interesting ritual at the beach there one afternoon, the guy got out of a van with "BeezNeez" murals on it, hmmmm was that you Ben? :) Was while the locals were drumming the sun down.

That is one HUGE fan they have got there!! wonder how it sounds straight into the vocal mics? looks like the room would be a bitch though - no doubt the stage
is hollow too!

Best pub system I've mixed in is the old Mercury Lounge which became "Live" at Crown in Melbourne. Digico D1 consoles at FOH and Monitors,
Nexo PS15's monitors and Nexo array thingy for FOH. just a pity the FOH mix position was upstairs! Always pulled some great sounding desk
tapes (CD burns) from FOH though :) or the other room I don't mind mixing in is Pier Live (old 21st Century in Frankston) currently with the Nexo
Alpha FOH, Wayloud monitors, old Midas console at FOH. just a pity about the dodgy multicore but the monitor/house engineer usually has it patched
so it works.

Ok...time for a best of..:)....best pub system i've mixed on was the old system at the Espy front bar when they had the Hill console. That system had punch and tone i miss since the old Hill has gone. I often wonder where it went???

Don't know how the PA sounds at the Byron Bay pub, but the coffee at the shop at the rear of the photo......despicable!

Wow, the memories!! I remember driving down from bris to do gigs there. I must be getting old as it was 15 years ago when i started gigging there. Where did the time go?

Surely one of the great aussie pubs - while you're listening to that sound system and sipping your beer, turn your head 90 degrees to look out across the bay to the waves crashing on Julian Rocks... aah! Instant holiday mode!
