Finally Finished my SID synth..

Postby Futureman » Mon Jun 20, 2011 10:48 pm

wow..

Why is it that the last 2% of a DIY job takes 99% of the total time.

Anyway, I'm happy.

8 SID chips under the hood.

Sounds like 8 SID chips would sound like.. Frigging awesome.

Because it's all about the detail.

But it is very satisfying when you finally get there.

Nice work, give yourself a pat on the back.

Yea.. I'm pretty happy.

As for video's etc... It's basically a midibox 6582 with a custom case, control surface and keyboard.. There are a few YouTube vids of midibox 6582's in action.

It's uber powerful in it's architecture .. And quite mind boggling what it can do.
I love using it as a stupidly fat 4 voice synth with each voice having 2 Sid chips and being in true stereo. Big.

The matrix is for routing stuff .. That matrix is real powerful.

I kinda wanna set up all my DIY stuff sometime.. SIDS into neve eq clones into 1176 clones just to be an arsehole.

Nothing arseholish about that at all! That's the whole point!

You do have to upload some samples then though....

You'd have to finish the neve eq first! :-)

Just a minor detail which is best over looked.. Mainly because someone has a can of clearcoat that I need to get off them.
