The Loudness Wars

This is a worthy subject and has been raised before, but I didn't remember seeing this presentation.
Excellent examples.

It's been round for a while, you can read my response to it and the litter of other such videos here on my blog.

Nothing new, this is, however.

that's the problem with common sense...it's not very common.

***edit***

Oops, sorry. I did not mean to be rude. But looking back, I think my post may come across like that. My apologies.

No worries Rick. Thanks Mate.
I've got no issues with people pointing out to me that this has been covered before.
I know that well and stated it in my post.
Hey I'm over 61 and have experienced a real war (It was very loud and distorted at times too).
The point I was making was that I hadn't seen that actual clip before and thought I'd share it.
Had a quick look at the SOS article, looks comprehensive.
Peace

LOUD! :p

But seriously, it is loud. Totally lost any depth it once had and everything is now right up in your face. The highs are very brittle too.

Me no likey. Glad I got this one for free! Although some of the B-Sides and rarities are cool.

Curious how much remastering work Turtlerock does, Mark?
