"Orban Optimod 6200 DAB Digital Audio Broadcast Processor. excellent condition

The Orban Optimod-DAB 6200 is an audio processor originally designed for Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB), digital television, and webcasting. It combines a preliminary AGC, a versatile equalizer, a multiband compressor, and a low-overshoot look-ahead limiter. These features also make the 6200 a promising candidate for mastering applications in the professional audio industry, such as preparation of equalized, level-controlled, peak limited CD masters."

Have One ? Yes, In fact I have 25
1 x 6200
7 x 6300
4 x 9200
4 x 9100 (Analogue)
1 x 8200FM
6 x 1101 (PCI Card Version of 6300)
2 x 1201 (PCI 6300 with Opticodec AAC+ Encoder)

Although all are in use for Transmission systems

I can see the application of the 6200 and 6300 for mastering, It is indeed a powerful processor and easy to control via it's PC remote program. The AM and FM ones of course have Pre-emphasis and limiting to suit the transmission medium, the DAB ones are probably the most open.

Manual Available here for download ftp://ftp.orban.com/6200/

The 9100 Analogue units are interesting from the Stereo perspective, They are for the now defunct AM-Stereo and used M-S limiting in their Stereo generators that would drive an AM Stereo /C-Quam Exciter as well as 5 band analogue compression, quite fun to play with.
The AM ones also have an interesting compensation for "Plate Tilt" when using Valve Output transmitters.
Basically you drive a TX into a dummy load with a 50Hz Square wave and equalize to get it square on the shoulders, pretty brutal work for a TX especially at 10KW output....
