I have been using the Korg MR1000 for a few years. Sounds good and easy to convert down to whatever you like. Very portable too, if that's appealing.

Hi Chris.
Just got your message.
DSD! how long have you got?
No the opera house doesn't archive to DSD.
We can and do record multitrack DSD, mainly for a Japanese classical
label that mixes the recordings in Japan for SACD release.
We use Pyramix and Sphynx ,DAW /ADDA converter.
There's a bit of a work around to get it all going, since
the Euphonix S5 console highest FS IS 96k.
Thats another story and probably nothing to do with the post.
I think the Korg unit is a great mix down master format for people
mixing in the analogue domain, and good capture device for live to 2 track recordings
The Korgs double FS DSD seems to get good wraps.
Archiving and digital asset management is a whole different can of worms,
and to do it properly costs a lot. Probably more than most audio productions can afford these days.

thanks to all the advice from my esteemed t/rockers - it was digested, regurgitated, ruminated, redigested and ...... (after selling a few unused things to fund it...)...... I ordered a DV-RA1000HD. Will provide some review comments in a coupla weeks
