WTH: MADI interface/express card. Sunday night, Melbourne

Postby Alistair » Tue Nov 12, 2013 4:31 pm

Hey all- just chasing up some leads on hiring a MADI system for this Sunday night coming. Ideally some sort of interface to connect with my laptop (Digico UB-MADI, RME Madiface etc), or if not possible a complete system.

Any leads? It still seems to be somewhat rarer technology in hire departments.

Hi Alistair,

I've got a bunch of RME Madi gear available for hire here in Melbourne. I've got an RME MadiFace as well as the option of using an RME PCI card within a 2-slot Magma Expansion chassis (including the ExpressCard connection to a laptop), which is preferable if you need a local headphone output for monitoring purposes (which the MadiFace does not offer unfortunately).

If you are in need of Madi capable Mic-pres, I have an RME Micstacy with the Madi card, allowing remote control of all preamp controls via Midi-over-Madi. If you already have your pres and conversion sorted out, depending on how your conversion is set-up (AES or ADAT etc...) I have an RME ADI-648 ADAT-Madi converter, as well as an RME-6432 AES-Madi converters available. If you need line-level to Madi conversion, I've also got some options there.

I'll send you a PM with my details and if you aren't already sorted out, feel free to give me a buzz.
I'm rehearsing/gigging Friday night, but other than that can make time to help sort you out.

Cheers,
George
