SOLD - Sliding rack shelf 1RU

Hello all,

I have a 1RU sliding shelf for a 19" rack in very new condition (see photo). It has front and rear mounts but can be mounted on the front only if you're putting something light on it.

is this really 1RU? lots of the "heavy duty" ones are over 1ru in height, and dont truly fit in 1 space

if this is 1ru
then yes - consider it sold!

Hi Gareth,

It is called a 1RU sliding shelf - the mounting points take up 1RU (i.e. 3 holes high in the punched rack).

However, it is slightly higher than 1RU - the slider rails extend about 1mm lower than the bottom of the tray. You can squeeze it in but it is better to have 1/3 of an RU below the rack to avoid scraping on a device below.

Also (see the picture) it has rail mounts front and back - ideally it would be installed in a comms rack with front and rear mounting, but I had it in a regular rack and it was ok for lightweight devices (drives, keyboard, etc).

thats what i expected..
not going to exactly do what i want unfortunately (i need something for a mobile rack, and there is def only 1RU avail.

if no one else bites... i might give it a shot
but have a feeling i know the outcome - so over to anyone else who is certain it will work for them first
